|MODELING THE EGYPTIAN LOCOMOTIVES|
|G-8 (Click on link to see prototype) . This 8 cylinders 875 hp , small general purpose locomotive which was built in the fifties by the EMD (Electo Motive Division) of General Motors was less common than the more advanced G-12 worldwide. In Egypt, this locomotive was used almost entirely in suburban passenger trains, and as freight trains locomotive.
The model shown below was modified from a Frateschi G8/ G12 plastic kit, painted in the original red scheme, and decorated with one wide central and two narrow peripheral white strips as was seen in the very few times in the late sixties. Unfortuanately, there is no picture of this attractive locomotive any where except in some old Egyptian movies.
