|MODELING THE EGYPTIAN AIR FORCE
|Mig-17(click on the link to see the prototype).
The Mig-17 joned the EAF almost at the same time as the Mig-15. And as the Mig-15s, they had initially the natural metal finish with the old Egyptian flag logos. Later and after the declaration of the UAR, they maintained their metallic finish and carried the new flag logo on the tail and the matching roundels on the wings and the fuselage. Like all other Egyptian aircrafts, after 1967, the Mig-17 acquired the camouflage colors on a base of army cream color. There were two distnct types of this airplane, the F model, and the PF model which was distinguishble by the appearnce of the nose, The models shown here are for those two types built in 1/48 scale, and representing the early paint natural metal scheme with the classic EAF markings, and the late camouflaged schemes.
